Attendees will be challenged to explore two of Dr. Bitner’s most compelling strategies:o “The Services Triangle” is all about promises: promises made to customers, promises kept by employees, and promises enabled by internal strategies. Learn how this strategic tool can help you assess your strengths and weaknesses as an organization and serve your customers better than competitors.

o “Service Blueprinting”, another tool, gives you the expertise to map your customer’s experience and develop a visual snapshot of your organization’s services. This snapshot can provide direction for service improvement and service design—all from your customer’s point of view.

As a Professor of Marketing at ASU for the past seventeen years, Mary Jo Bitner is recognized as a leader and pioneer in the field of services marketing worldwide. At ASU she was a founding faculty member of the renowned Center for Services Leadership and has been a leader in its emergence the leading university-based center for the study of services marketing and management. In 2003, Dr. Bitner was awarded the “Career Contributions to the Service Discipline Award” presented by the American Marketing Association. She is co-author of Services Marketing: Integrating Customer Focus Across the Firm (McGraw-Hill, Third Edition, 2003), a leading text in services marketing used at universities across the U.S. and worldwide. Dr. Bitner has worked with numerous businesses including AT&T, Ford Motor Company, Yellow Corporation, Mayo Clinic and RR Donnelley to improve service quality and strategy.

“Getting and keeping customers is a function of the promises you make and the value and services you deliver” shared Joan Koerber-Walker, executive director and designer of the Ready Set Grow series. “ We are honored to have an expert of Mary Jo’s caliber join us as we keep our promise to bring leading business experts throughout the series.”

Ready Set Grow, is a 12 month program bringing 12 nationally known business growth experts to the valley. The series continues throughout 2004 and is held the third Tuesday morning of the month. Subscriptions are offered as a series and on a single session basis.

Phoenix, Arizona March 22, 2004– CorePurpose, Inc., a management consulting, software and outsourced solutions provider, today announced the fourth installment in the Ready Set Grow Lecture Series : “Creating Deviant Leadership”.

Ready Set Grow, is a 12 month program bringing 12 nationally known business growth experts to the valley. The fourth in the series “Deviant Leadership – How to Move a Company in a Different Direction” will be held on Tuesday April 20th. The series continues throughout 2004 and is held the third Tuesday morning of the month. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to these executives tell how they have improved their businesses and then participate in workshops designed to apply the same concepts to their own companies. Subscriptions are offered as a series and on a single session basis.

Each program will look at a different facet of business growth strategy ranging from strategic execution to product design, customer focus and service, operations, sales, and globalization.

On April 20th, Gregory A. Reid, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Yellow Roadway Corporation will explore how Yellow, one of the largest commercial transportation services worldwide, went from being on the Fortune “worst list” in 1997 to #1 in its category on Fortune’s Most Admired Companies list in 2003. The company continues its transformation today. Greg’s presentation will include:

• How move beyond the 4 Ps of marketing.

• The 8 Ps of change and transformation for your business or your career

• How to use “Deviant Leadership” principles to truly be a change agent in your company.

• How to identify customer needs and shape your business to create a customer centric culture

• How to create organizational passion to move mountains and to change attitudes.

As Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Reid is responsible for brand and marketing strategy, strategic market planning and research, and internal and external communications for all operating subsidiaries of Yellow Roadway Corporation. In addition, he maintains responsibility for public, government and community relations.

Reid joined Yellow in 1997 as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Yellow Freight System subsidiary. Prior to joining Yellow, Reid held management positions with Procter & Gamble, Bristol-Myers, Shaklee, Memorex, and Ryder Logistics.

Other experts coming to the valley include, Tom Esposito, president of The Insight Group, and former IBM executive who developed the IBM Global Services business model; and Roy Vallee, chairman and CEO of Avnet, Inc.. Other sessions include leading Ph.D’s, CEO’s and senior executives who have created major impact in their organizations and industries by focusing on the concepts they will share.

CorePurpose, Inc. Launches the Impact Research Initiative at the Arizona Technology Council Partnering Conference
Phoenix, Arizona February 25, 2004– CorePurpose, Inc., a management consulting, software and outsourced solutions provider, today announced the Impact Research Initiative at the Arizona Partnering Conference.

The Impact Research Initiative will research key business questions and challenges facing products and services organizations worldwide using a monthly email based survey. Subscribers will then receive a summary of the results including an executive summary of its business impact by the end of the same month.

“Have you ever looked at statistical data on key business issues and wondered – where did this come from or who did they ask? Too often, large segments of the population go uncounted and without a voice in major research studies” stated Joan Koerber-Walker, executive director of CorePurpose, Inc. “The purpose of the Impact Research Initiative is to open the platform to businesses people around the world and allow them to share what is happening and what they are doing to move their businesses forward. Each survey will look at a different facet of business growth including: economic conditions, strategic execution, product design, customer focus and service, operations, sales, and globalization.”

The first survey, scheduled for April 1, 2004, will address the question “Is the economy starting to turn and how does it impact your business?” Surveys will be delivered via email to members of business associations, industry groups, and across a wide network of business contacts. Survey recipients will be encouraged to share the opportunity to participate with their contacts, creating an expanding pool of data to draw from. The study groups will draw from business people across geographies and industries as well as from all sizes of organizations. Respondents will be asked to provide demographic information so that data can be analyzed and reported by business size and segment.

Phoenix, Arizona February 17, 2004– CorePurpose, Inc., a management consulting, software and outsourced solutions provider, today announced the third installment in the Ready Set Grow Lecture Series – “Focus on Product”.

Ready Set Grow, is a 12 month program bringing 12 nationally known business growth experts to the valley. The second in the series “Focus on People”, held February 17th, was well received by an audience of representatives from Arizona businesses. The series continues throughout 2004 and is held the third Tuesday morning of the month. Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to these executives tell how they have improved their businesses and then participate in workshops designed to apply the same concepts to their own companies. Subscriptions are offered as a series and on a single session basis.

Each program will look at a different facet of business growth strategy ranging from strategic execution to product design, customer focus and service, operations, sales, and globalization.

The March 16, 2004 session, “Focus on Product” will explore how to develop the products and services that customers want to buy. “Today consumers can buy what they want, when they want, and have it delivered when and how they want. In addition, consumers demand personalization, customization, and convenience. To create products and services that consumers seek out to purchase means that product development needs to be consumer-centered” stated Camille Schuster, the session presenter and president of Global Collaborations. Dr. Schuster will share both research and practical experiences aimed at answering key questions including:

• What is the difference between saying the customer is #1 and having a consumer-centered business?

• Why the demand part of the traditional supply and demand value chain is critical for success.

• How to develop the questions to ask that create a consumer-centered approach to product development and positioning.

Dr. Schuster will open the program, followed by a question and answer period and workshop where participants can apply what they have learned to their own companies.

Camille Schuster (Ph.D., The Ohio State University) is President of Global Collaborations, Inc., a Full Professor of Marketing at Xavier University, and Faculty Associate at Arizona State University. Dr. Schuster has worked with leading executives in ECR (Efficient Consumer Response) and GCI (Global Commerce Initiative) development activities since 1995 and presented keynote presentations, breakout sessions, speeches and workshops on 4 continents in more than 30 countries around the world. Her speaking, training, facilitating and coaching activities are grounded in reality, based upon experience gained primarily through data gathering, and collaborative project development with global business executives, in small, mid-size AND large, multinational companies, as well as industry associations. As a member of the Global Scorecard Committee, Dr. Schuster has worked with middle management; services, retail, and manufacturing companies; faculty; and been on panels with leading business executives. Dr. Schuster has co-authored one book with Michael Copeland from Procter & Gamble entitled Global Business: Planning for Sales and Negotiation, co-authored a second book entitled The Consumer or Else! . . . Consumer Centric Business Paradigms, with Don Dufek, retired Senior Vice President and Officer of The Kroger Company. Dr. Schuster has solo-authored a book entitled The Rise of Consumer Power – Adapting Marketing Communication Strategies.
